When it comes to the best actors in Hollywood these days, few have the mystique and widespread appeal that Johnny Depp has been able to attain. The man has his choice of films, and we can only wish that he will stop being so loyal to Tim Burton in the upcoming years. Share the love Tim!
One film that I remember watching as a kid and being terrified was Edward Scissorhands. This is a quintessential Tim Burton film in that it is dark and oddly humorous. After getting a little older and watching this movie again, it became one of my favorite Johnny Depp roles.
I am not the biggest fan of the Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise, but there is no doubt to the brilliance that Depp has been able to bring to the role of Captain Jack Sparrow. A fourth installment of this blockbuster franchise is currently in production.
One film of Johnny Depp's which I absolutely loved was Secret Window. Depp stars in this movie as a writer in the midst of some serious "vandalism," as he attempts to finish a novel of his. If you like psychological thrillers, this is a great one.
Another great film starring Depp is Public Enemies. This movie also stars Christian Bale as an FBI agent on the hunt for the notorious gangster, John Dillinger (played by Depp). Who knew Depp could play such a great gangster?
Another rather enjoyable film starring the great Johnny Depp is Finding Neverland. This movie tells the story of the creator of Peter Pan, Sir James Matthew Barrie and the friends who helped inspire him to do so.
These are just some of the greatest Johnny Depp movies up to this point in his career, and I have no doubts that he will continue to put out quality films for years to come.
